February 7, 2015 – Vehicle Accident w/Entraptment (Route 61 South)

February 7, 2015 – At 03:06 Stations 1 & 2 were dispatched to the area of 471 Route 61 South, for a vehicle accident with unknown injuries. SCCC quickly advised of entrapment and a third vehicle striking the scene of the crash. The call was immediately upgraded adding Engine 737 from Station 4 to the call.

Chief 735 and Chief 722 arrived on scene and found  2 vehicles; a jeep that rolled multiple times and a sedan that sustained heavy front end damage. It was quickly determent the entrapped occupant self extricated and no serious injuries were reported despite the serious nature of the crash.

Crews secured both vehicles, contained the fluids, and swept debris from the roadway. Chief 735 (Snyder) had command. All SHFD units were on scene for approximately 1 hour.

January 31, 2015 – SHFD Takes Delivery of New Chief’s Vehicle

January 31, 2015 – the SHFD is proud to announce the delivery of the department’s new chief’s vehicle. The members of the SHFD would like to thank the Schuylkill Haven Borough for providing us with this Ford F-150 that will be utilized for fire command. More details and specs will be posted soon!

January 31, 2015 – SHFD RIT To Pottsville WSF

January 31, 2015 -At 13:43 the Schuylkill Haven FD Rapid Intervention Team was dispatched to 620 Greenwood Avenue to assist the Pottsville Fire Department on a working house fire. City units made quick work of the fire and placed RIT available just as SHFD units were arriving on scene. Chief 724 had command of the RIT team.

January 31, 2015 – MVA w/Unknown Injuries (Adamsdale Road)

January 31, 2015 – At 01:07 Stations 1 & 2 were dispatched to the area of 176 W. Adamsdale Road for a vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Chief 724 arrived on scene and found a single vehicle had left the roadway and hit a fence. It was determined that there were no injuries or fluids down and therefore the call was held to Station 2.
