January 10, 2010 – At 00:24 The Schuylkill Haven Fire Department was dispatched to 154 Pennsylvania Avenue for an automatic fire alarm. Crews gained access to the structure and determined the alarm to be a false activation. All Schuylkill Haven units remained on scene for approximately 30 minutes.
January 6, 2011 – At 18:55 Stations 1 & 4 were dispatched to the area of 26 W. Main Street for a vehicle accident with possible injuries. Crews arrived on scene and were met with a two vehicle accident with no injuries and fluids down on the roadway. Crews applied floor dry to the area around the vehicles and assisted with traffic control. All Haven units remained on scene until the tow company arrived.
January 6, 2010 – At 03:25 the Schuylkill Haven Fire Department Rapid Intervention Team was dispatched to 429 W. Fairview Street to assist the Pottsville Fire Department with a working structure fire. Crews arrived on scene and were put to work searching for fire extension, ventilating, and overhaul of the structures. The Schuylkill Haven R.I.T. remained on scene for approximately 5 hours until the fire was extinguished. Chief 720 (Peel) had command. Videos and pictures coming soon!
January 5, 2011 – At 16:05 Stations 1 & 2 were dispatched to the intersection of Haven Street and Center Avenue for a vehicle accident with injuries and fluids down. Crews arrived on scene and applied floor dry to the area around the vehicles. All Schuylkill Haven units remained on scene until the tow company arrived. Time out was about 35 minutes.
January 3, 2011 – At 17:57 Stations 1 & 4 and Fire Districts 56, 47, and 42 were dispatched to 113 East Market Street, Orwigsburg Borough for a house fire with possible entrapment. As units began to respond SCCC advised that the fire was located in the kitchen, and that everyone was able to exit the building safely. The fire was quickly knocked down by the crew from Orwigsburg and all Schuylkill Haven units remained on scene as the structure was ventilated. Time out was just over 1 hour.
January 2, 2011 – At 12:06 The Schuylkill Haven Fire Department RIT was dispatched to 522 Howard Street, Frackville Borough for a working structure fire. As E-733 and Squad 739 became en-route, SCCC advised of multiple buildings fully involved. Crews arrived on scene and staged on building side “A” of the structures. The Schuylkill Haven RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) stood by as fire fighters battled the blaze and conducted overhaul operations. All Schuylkill Haven units remained on scene for approximately 2.5 hours until being released by Frackville command Chief 43. Video and MLK photos coming soon!
January 1, 2010 – Shortly after midnight the Schuylkill Haven Fire Department was dispatched to 1236 Schuylkill Mountain Road for a possible house fire. Crews quickly arrived on scene and found that the homeowner had removed smoldering contents from the home. Fire Personnel checked the structure for extension. All units were placed clear and available after about 40 minutes.
December 30, 2010 – At 17:43 the Schuylkill Haven Fire Department was dispatched to the Schuylkill Haven High School for an automatic fire alarm. Crews quickly arrived on scene and found the alarm to be a false activation. All units were then placed available.
