August 26, 2008- At 17:00 the Schuylkill Haven Fire Department was dispatched to 255 Parkway (The Hi-Rise) for an activated fire alarm. As the Duty Chief 720 and all first due incoming units did an investigation it was found that the alarm was coming from the 8th floor. After crews got to the 8th floor and did an investigation it was found to be…..burnt food on the stove!! The person in the apartment did his own ventilation, and the fire department was not needed and cleared within 20 minutes.
